Vows
Our Vows
We are here today to witness and celebrate the joining of two lives in marriage. Carly and Shawn wish to thank their family and friends for being here on this special day, it means so very much. They have asked us to be with them and to share their joy as they make this important commitment to each other. The essence of their commitment is the taking of another person in his or her entirety. I remind you, that marriage is more than just vows a ring and a kiss. It is an agreement of trust and honesty, of faith and understanding. It is therefore a decision, which is not entered into lightly but rather undertaken with great consideration and respect for each other. With in the circle of your love, marriage encompasses all of lifes most important relationships. A wife and a husband are each others best friend, confidant, lover, listener and true companion. Marriage deepens and enriches every facet of life. Happiness is fuller, memories are fresher, commitment is stronger, ever anger is felt more strongly, and passes away more quickly. Carly and Shawn know it is not easy to build a deep, personal relationship. Thus we ask that the promises and hopes of their marriage be realized. May they find the patience to listen, the capacity to understand, the compassion to give comfort, and the joy to laugh. Let their shared lives offer illumination and growth. Let it bask in the joy of giving and the excitement of shared discoveries. It is a delight to discover someone you love who can believe in you more than believe in yourself. Someone who will love you for who you are and together what you will become. Please join hands and face each other Hold tight the hand that will share your fortune and caring. Look at the face that holds your heart and your future, as you are about to pledge to each other your undying devotion and love. Shawn, do you take Carly as your beloved wife and partner, Will you share your life openly with her, and strive to love, honor, and stand beside her always. Will you be her loving and faithful husband and treasure her in times of celebration and of sadness, in times of sickness and in health, in times of joy and of conflict for all the days of your life. (I DO) Carly, do you take Shawn as your beloved husband and partner, Will you share your life openly with him, and strive to love, honor, and stand beside him always. Will you be his loving and faithful wife and treasure him in times of celebration and of sadness, in times of sickness and in health, in times of joy and of conflict for all the days of your life. (I DO) Rings are made precious by our wearing them. They carry deep meaning and they say who we are. Your wedding rings are most special because they have been chosen by the two of you to represent your joining in marriage. Just as these rings have no ending, so may your happiness and love be endless. Shawn, as you place the ring on Carlys finger, please repeat after me: Carly I give you this ring as a part of me, to encircle not just your finger, but your whole being. I give you this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness. In doing this, I take you as my wife, and I will love you always and forever. Carly, as you place the rind on Shawn's finger, please repeat after me: Shawn I give you this ring as a part of me, to encircle not just your finger, but your whole being. I give you this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness. In doing this, I take you as my husband, and I will love you always and forever. Carly and Shawn will now light a unity candle, which symbolizes the strength and beauty they bring to one another as husband and wife. From now on, their thoughts shall be for each other rather than for their individual selves. Their plans shall be mutual, their joys and sorrows shall be shared alike. A lifetime of loving, caring and sharing begins now and goes on forever. Duty makes us do things well, but love, love makes us do them beautifully. May you love deeply, laugh heartily, practice patience and smile often. May you dream together, grow old together, be crazy, give, give in and trust enough to take. May you see many sunrises, listen to the rain, savor special moments and rediscover each other over and over again. May you have health, happiness, and a lifetime of rich adventures. Now because you have chosen one another, honored each other with the precious gifts of your rings, and pledge to love each other for all the days of your life, it gives me great joy to pronounce you husband and wife. Shawn, You may kiss your bride. Please join me in congratulating Mr. and Mrs. Shawn Huber.
